How to configure HTTPS Nginx + Pagespeed + Varnish + Apache? -

i have following set-up:

nginx (https) => ssl offloaded => varnish (http) => apache (http)

i want add mod_pagespeed or nginx pagespeed in mix. ideas add it? should adding pagespeed apache or nginx?

the following page has information, i'm unsure our specific set-up.

https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/module/downstream-caching

i thinking of exploring 1 of following options:

  • add pagespeed nginx, making pagespeed use cached pages varnish / apache , executing on fly
  • add pagespeed apache, , configuring in such way pages cached based on user agent / screen resolution.

if understand correctly, artice point out above refers second option. might easier set first option though think?

thanks in advance help!

perhaps along these lines work you?

haproxy --> varnish --> nginx
